This fall we will continue to implement safety protocols due to COVID-19. 

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

If your child has any of the following symptoms please keep them home. They will not be allowed to attend class if they are experiencing any of the following: Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, or Diarrhea. Each student will have their temperature checked upon entering the Art Center. Students will be required to wear either a reusable cloth mask or a disposable mask while in class. Frequent hand-washing will also be required while at the art center. Art Center tables, chairs and touched surfaces and tools will be disinfected each day following class. We appreciate your help in making sure we all stay healthy and keeping those around us healthy as well.

Students may bring a bottle of water to class. They may not share with other campers. 

Homeschool Elementary Art Class

Taught by local artist, art educator, and homeschooling parent, Sarah Kargol, this class is geared for elementary aged children. Completely hands-on, students will explore mediums and art-making techniques while traveling through the history of art. We'll look at significant artists and art and create our own work inspired by them.

Homeschool
Secondary Art Class

Taught by local artist, art educator, and homeschooling parent, Sarah Kargol, this class will introduce students to a variety of techniques that will serve as building blocks for a solid foundation in artistic practice. As skills are acquired and improved upon, students will learn to think independently and solve problems creatively.

Preschool Art Time

A special opportunity for littles to get their hands messy. Preschool Art Time is all about process art; it's all about the the experience of creating rather than the product. Process art allows children to be themselves, make their own decisions and just create! Come play!

Teen Art FOCUS

The Oskaloosa Art Center's after school art program, Teen Art FOCUS offers students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to explore their creativity and artistic selves in a fun, nurturing environment. Students will be exposed to a wide variety of media, styles, and artists throughout the term.

enrollment policy:

The Oskaloosa Art Center reserves the right to accept or deny enrollment in any class, lecture or workshop by any applicant. Class sizes are limited and enrollment is a first come first served basis. Unfortunately, the Oskaloosa Art Center is unable to prorate students for missed classes or classes that they are unable to attend. The Oskaloosa Art Center strives to provide the highest quality art classes with various media for all ages. We value your feedback. inclement weather:

The Oskaloosa Art Center is located in Midwest Iowa and at times due to weather has found it necessary to cancel a class. If classes are cancelled due to hazardous weather conditions, a make up class will be scheduled. If students are unable to attend the make up class, students will be refunded the missed portion of their class fee.

oskaloosa art center course cancellation policy:

Occasionally the Oskaloosa Art Center may find it necessary to cancel a course or workshop due to low enrollment or other scheduling conflicts. If this occurs, registered students will be contacted and allowed to transfer to another class or be refunded the full course tuition and any additional fees.

student cancellation policy:

Students will receive a full refund if a request to withdraw is received by the Oskaloosa Art Center’s Director no later than 7 days prior to the first day of the course. Request to withdraw from a course less than 7 days prior to the first class session will not be eligible for refunds. If you register for a class or workshop last minute (within 1 week of the class), this cancellation policy still applies.

registration agreement statement:

I understand and agree that when I register, I have obligated myself to pay for the courses and all other charges related to this registration. If I decide to cancel my registration, I understand that the date I officially withdraw will determine the amount of refund, if any, I will receive.

Art After School! (for middle schoolers)

Spark your child’s creativity and skill in our Art After School program just for middle school students! Your child will gain both confidence and an understanding of the visual arts while building painting, drawing and mixed-media skills. Through guided, hands-on art projects, students develop an eye for color, composition and design. While mastering the fundamentals, they also learn valuable habits regarding technique, material use and art appreciation.

Three challenging and exciting sessions will be offered to students currently in middle school, grades 6-8.

HAND-PUPPETS!

Our loved hand-puppet workshop is back! These aren't your everyday ordinary puppets... they are the coolest puppets. Let your imagination run WILD and create a new fun friend.
