Summer Art Camp

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We are located at 115 1st Ave E in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Our front door is located in the Alley behind our building (kitty corner from Smokey Row’s rear entrance door).

WHAT IS THE AGE RANGE OF YOUR CAMP?

Our Summer Art Camp serves children from ages 6 through 12. Students must be 6 years old on or before the first day of their registered class. No exceptions.

CAN I SIGN UP FOR JUST ONE WEEK OF SUMMER CAMP?

We offer 4 one-week sessions of our Summer Art Camp! Simply select the week your student is interested in attending on our registration page here.

CAN I SIGN UP  FOR JUST MORNINGS OR AFTERNOONS?

We do offer half-day sessions of our summer art camp! Morning classes run 9AM to 12PM and afternoon classes run from 12:30 to 3:30PM. Simply select the class session your student is interested in attending on our registration page.

WHEN CAN I DROP OFF MY CHILD?

Students should arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to the start of their camp session. This gives our teachers time to prepare for class.

Morning session: 8:50AM

Afternoon session: 12:20PM

HOW DOES DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP WORK?

Please come inside the first day to drop-off. You will need to confirm registration info and cell numbers. After that day, you may drop off at the door.  However, please come inside each day to pick up your camper. Please be prompt.

WHAT SHOULD MY CAMPER BRING TO CAMP?

All-day campers (students enrolled in both AM and PM classes) need to bring 2 snacks, one sack lunch, and a water bottle. We will eat lunch together at 12PM either in the Art Center or, if it’s nice outside, at the tables in the Alley.

Single-session campers (students enrolled in AM or PM classes) need to bring one snack and a water bottle.
We ask campers to refrain from bringing personal items that may be damaged or lost over the course of camp.

All art-making materials will be provided.

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR TO CAMP?

We will be making art! Please send your child to camp in clothing that is suitable for artmaking; comfortable, casual, and not so precious that they can't get a little messy.

I NEED TO CHANGE OR ALTER MY CAMPER'S ENROLLMENT, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Reach out to us at faceofmahaska@gmail.com with your request and we will be happy to help! We do ask all changes be requested in writing to ensure accurate fulfillment.

IF WE NEED TO MISS A DAY OR CANCEL ALTOGETHER, WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

All sales are final. Because of the limited capacity and high demand of our Summer Art Camp, we do not offer makeups or refunds for missed days, even if you know you will miss them ahead of time.

ARE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE? HOW DO I APPLY?

Yes! Our scholarship fund is made possible by generous members of our community who donate money specifically to help kids attend art camp. Donations come in throughout the year and we give it all away each summer. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis. Applying is an informal honor system. We believe if families can afford to send their kids to camp, they will. To apply simply send an email to faceofmahaska@gmail.com with the name and age of the student and what camp sessions they would like to attend. We will do our best to help out as much as possible. Once the scholarship fund is depleted no further money will be awarded.
