Clay classes are taught by area artist, Sarah Kargol, who graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2000 with emphases in ceramics and sculpture. She has taught clay classes at art centers in South Dakota, South Carolina, and Iowa. She also instructed college ceramics courses at William Penn University before focusing her efforts on art education at the Oskaloosa Art Center.
Clay Classes at the Art Center
When working with clay, individuals can develop communication skills, emotional regulation, and problem-solving abilities, making it a great way to promote personal development. In addition, clay work can provide a calming and meditative experience, reducing stress and anxiety levels. Private clay classes would make a unique date night, a cool team-building activity, or a fun family outing.

4-person minimum/10-person maximum for hand-building classes.
$60 per person: includes a 2-hour lesson, clay, and bisque firing.
An additional appointment will need to be made for glazing (no additional charge.)

Watercolor Painting Classes at
the Art Center
Watercolor is a fantastic medium to use if you're new to painting and one that can take years to master. Beginners and experienced painters can produce beautiful images with just a little practice.
Enhance your practice in watercolor and grow your knowledge of the medium while enjoying the company of other like-minded artists like yourself. Explore new techniques and produce artwork outside of your comfort zone while creating engaging compositions.
This entry-level watercolor class is great for the beginning artist and those looking to “brush up” on basic watercolor. Explore foundational techniques for creating beautiful watercolors including color, washes, brushwork, and much more!
